There’s something so special about in-home newborn sessions. The comfort of home, the ease of being in your own space, and the natural interactions that unfold—it all makes for the most beautiful, heartfelt images. And let me tell you, Baby Reese’s session was no exception.
I arrived at their Rockville home to find the family dressed in the perfect cozy, casual outfits—sweaters, comfy jeans, and the kind of warmth that comes from just being together. Baby Reese, with her gorgeous dark hair, was sweet and snoozy, perfectly content in the arms of her mama. And when I say their bond was magic, I mean it. The moment she heard her mom’s voice or felt her gentle touch, she melted into pure calmness. It was incredible to witness and even more special to capture.
For her solo portraits, we kept things soft and timeless—a mauve background with a cream wrap to contrast her dark hair, topped off with the most perfect cream bow. (You know I love a big bow, and I was so excited to see it make an appearance for Reese!) She looked absolutely darling, all curled up and peacefully snoozing away.
Of course, newborn sessions wouldn’t be complete without some sibling moments, and Kennedy—Reese’s big sister—kept us on our toes! She wasn’t entirely sold on photos at first, but as soon as we played some Frozen music and Elsa’s voice filled the room, her excitement was priceless. The pure joy and surprise every time she heard Elsa sing? Just the cutest thing ever.
Some of my favorite moments from the session? Mom and Reese snuggling together in the nursery, completely wrapped up in those first precious weeks of newborn life. And then there was Kennedy, reaching over the crib to peek at her baby sister—curiosity, love, and a tiny bit of “what do we do with this little person?” all rolled into one. Those are the in-between moments I live for.
If you’re expecting and dreaming of a relaxed, love-filled newborn session right in the comfort of your home, I’d love to capture those fleeting early days for you. These moments are so, so special—and they deserve to be remembered just as they are.
Christina and Tyler – Thank you so much for including me to capture these moments for you! I’m so grateful I got a glimpse into to early days of your life as a family of four. I hope you cherish them for a long time,
